The former president's Family Member Seeks Expert Tips from Tiger Woods Ahead of LPGA First Appearance
This young athlete has substantial online presence
Kai Trump can count on plenty of prominent backers when she starts her first LPGA appearance later this week.
This teenage golfer, who is related to Donald Trump, was granted a special exemption to play at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, owns multiple international courses and frequently competes against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we have some close matches," she revealed.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who won't be present, counseled her: "Simply stay calm."
"He basically suggested to compete and relax," she explained.
"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He's not attending for the tournament. He's occupied with world affairs, making him rather occupied."
Being non-professional, the golfer has played in only three events in 2024 and maintains position 461 in AJGA rankings.
However she's able to seek guidance from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He represents the top athlete globally," Kai stated.
"And he's a superior human being. He suggested me to go out there, have fun, adapting to the flow."
She'll challenge some of top competitors in women's golf at this tournament, including second-ranked the champion, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
The LPGA stated that involving Kai exposes the sport to new audiences, particularly with younger fans.
The young star boasts substantial online presence and recently launched her own clothing and lifestyle brand.
Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
