Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams during the season.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the last two tournaments this season due to a health issue that has affected her in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to rest and recuperate prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

These plans are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.

Raducanu required blood pressure checks in her opening round against Ann Li in Wuhan and withdrew when behind 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

She was also playing with clear difficulty in the deciding set in the match with Zhu owing to back discomfort that has been a concern during parts of the season.

These outcomes signaled a promising season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points before losing to Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.

Raducanu won 28 matches during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her standout performance was at the Miami Open in March.

Ranked first in Britain reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route then falling in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

Her coach was trainer Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in in the coming months.

The athlete revealed that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she made the third stage prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
