Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The comedian

Prolific children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A spokesman for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour involving young women.

The publisher did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
